The little scope that could (can)

Do You Need A Giant Telescope?

You might be surprised at what you can do with what is the smallest Schmidt Cassegrain on the market. At least in the early 2000’s. The i5 was a 5 inch (125 mm) SCT that came with a equatorial wedge and a decent set of optics. Like everyone, you might be looking at those cool photographs you see on the internet and think you need a giant 11 or 14 inch scope to do it.

I can tell you from experience that lugging out a 10 inch or bigger SCT for a casual night of observing is a chore. The little i5 can be carried up a flight of stairs on its tripod andput away, ready to get back out in a heartbeat.

With just a little image processing
